A few words about wood

Today’s homebuyers have high expectations about the quality of the finishes they want to see in a potential home. Unless they’re looking for a fixer-upper, they want to see a beautifully finished and staged home that will require, at most, a coat of paint on the walls. If the kitchen is dingy and the bathrooms need work, it will drastically affect the price you can ask, and if the floors are dated and worn, the same is true.

The floors are the first thing a buyer sees when they walk into your home. If they don’t like what they see, they may knock thousands of dollars off their bid. Some may even walk away, even if there are other features of the home they like. After all, there’s another home just like yours for sale around the corner, and that one has gleaming new hardwood floors. It’s worth the investment to spend on high-quality floors before listing your home. It will increase your viable asking price, and make the property easier to move.
